Spinal Screenings & Posture Evaluations

Lateral Posture: Before Treatment Lateral Posture: After Treatemnt
Lateral Standing Posture:  Before Treatment  Lateral Standing Posture:  After Treatment

An example of one of the most prevelent postures we see in our society, is the one pictured on the far left.  This posture represents abnormal spinal alignment, (Vertebral Subluxation) of the Head, (occiput), Neck, (cervical spine) and upper back, (thoracic spine).  When we find ourselves in this postural configuration, the Head and Neck are "jutted" forward on the rest of the spine, causing the muscles, disc and ligaments of the spine to work harder than they are suppossed too from the base of the skull, (occiput), all the way down the spine to the Sacrum, (what most people call their tail bone), just to hold us upright.  Whether we are sitting or standing, this abnormal stress and strain on the muscles, ligaments and disc of the spine, day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year, cause the spine to degenerate faster than it normally would.  This process creates abnormal and accelerated wear and tear on the spine.  The meical/chiropractic professions call this process, Degenerative Joint Disease, Degerative Disc Disease or Osteoarthritis.  These three terms are synonomis, they mean the same thing, A worn out spine.
